Hi there! I’m Jessica, and I live in New Jersey. In 2004, I weighed nearly 300 pounds and suffered from debilitating anxiety, depression, and obsessive compulsive disorder. My mother being diagnosed with breast cancer was the wake-up call I needed to turn things around, and over the next six years, I lost more than 100 pounds through sensible eating and being more active.
Today, I’m a marathon runner and triathlete, and I’m loving where this running thing has taken me. I started this blog to document my fitness adventures, share some recipes and race recaps, make some friends and have some fun along the way.
I’m glad you found me – and I hope you enjoy the ride!

Hey there! It’s nice to “meet” you too! 🙂 I just had a chance to check out your blog, I love it – especially the Garminless running post, it’s so true that we sometimes have to get back into enjoying the run by not paying attention to the facts and figures around it. It’s nice just to look up at the trees and remember why we do it once in a while. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Jessica! The blog world is pretty cool in the fact that you run into people that otherwise you never would meet!

I’m so glad I found your blog!! I follow you on IG! No, I’m no stalker I just love following others who run. I had no idea you were sick! I’ve only heard of little kids getting what you got, but makes sense if your hubby works on a school. I’m glad to hear you’re doing better!

There’s my IG friend, so nice to see you here! 🙂 YES, that illness was no joke, let me tell you! But now it’s got me washing my hands about a hundred times a day, which isn’t necessarily the worst thing in the world I guess? 🙂
